La Liga president Javier Tebas urged stronger economic controls and financial transparency after alleged financial breaches by Manchester City.

Potential penalties range from fines and a transfer ban to points deductions, with the risk of relegation, or even expulsion from the league. The club continues to contest the allegations and will be able to appeal once any decision is made public.
