Inter vice president Javier Zanetti confirms Inter’s interest in Real Madrid target Franco Mastantuono.
Speaking in an interview with Flashscore via TMW, Javier Zanetti revealed Inter’s primary interest in Argentine sensation Franco Mastantuono. Still, he cited enormous costs behind his transfer as the reason for backing off. He said: “Who doesn’t like Mastantuono? All the teams would like him, but he costs too much.”
Real Madrid are the favourites to land the 17-year-old midfield wunderkind but they are expected to pay over €50 million to River Plate for his transfer, including his €45 million release clause and a 13% surge due to taxes.
It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid decide to loan Mastantuono after buying him. In such a case, Inter could strive for a loan deal and possibly sign him. However, this is a far-fetched possibility right now.
Inter play River Plate in the Club World Cup, and they could have played against the midfielder, but Los Blancos will get the deal done soon.
