Playing a key role throughout as Leeds United Under-21s secured three points in their latest Premier League 2 outing, Jayden Lienou caught up with LUTV after the full-time whistle.

The full-back was heavily involved from minute one to 90, showing leadership at the back to help the Whites to a clean sheet on their way to victory, after goals from Josh McDonald and Freddie Lane.

The defender will head away on international duty with Wales next, so he was pleased to depart with a win and send his side into Tuesday’s EFL Trophy clash with Barnsley full of confidence.

“I thought it was a good team performance, it was very mature and we stuck together well to the end, got the clean sheet, and that leads us well into Tuesday.

“We’ve spoken a lot with Scott [Gardner], the main goal is to try and get over the line and we've done that today. I think it was a good team performance and we've got the three points.

“I think we just put the game to bed [when Lane scored the second goal]. It gave us a real grip on the game and they lost all hope.

“Also we have spoken a lot as a defensive unit with Jonny [Howson] in training about conceding less goals and today we obviously got a clean sheet. So that obviously shows a more mature performance from the lads, which leads us well into Tuesday.”
