Jean-Charles Castelletto (30) is close to a departure from FC Nantes this summer, with two clubs in Middle Eastern clubs interested in taking the Cameroon international from the North of France, as per information from L’Équipe.

Qatar’s Al-Wakrah are reportedly in pole position with talks centring around a €3.5m transfer fee, and a four-year contract for the centre-back. However, the UAE-based Al Jazira are also interested in securing Castelletto’s services.

Castelletto has spent the past five years with Les Canaris having originally joined the club in 2020 from Stade Brestois. During this time, the centre-back became a Coupe de France winner, helping Nantes to the title in the 2021/22 season.

Born in the Parisian suburbs, the centre-back began his career in France playing in the AJ Auxerre youth system before making his full debut for the club in 2013 during a Ligue 2 fixture against Gazélec Ajaccio.
