RC Lens have secured the loan of West Ham’s France international Jean-Clair Todibo, capping weeks of work to reinforce their defence.

According to L'Équipe, the centre-back had agreed in principle to join OM, yet he is heading to Lens instead.

Two years after backing former Nice defender Malang Sarr to rebound following a difficult spell at Chelsea, Lens needed his replacement.

Sarr left on a free to Neom after a superb season, so the club turned to another ex-Nice player from across the Channel.

Todibo arrives on a loan with no option to buy, aligning with Lens’s wage policy after several options were explored without rushing.

The 26-year-old will look to relaunch his career at Lens.
