Jean-Clair Todibo ‘to join’ Lens on season-long loan from West Ham | OneFootball

According to RMC, RC Lens are set to take France international Jean-Clair Todibo, 26, on a season-long loan from West Ham, with no option to buy.

Sporting director Jean-Louis Leca had led weeks of work to reinforce central defence after Malang Sarr left for Neom in Saudi Arabia on a free.

Lens had explored a move for El Chadaille Bitshiabu of RB Leipzig, but talks stalled without agreement with the German club.

Todibo departed Nice for West Ham two seasons ago, initially on loan before a €40m permanent transfer. Marseille also pursued him, but their blocked window aided Lens.

The centre-back, capped twice by France, accepted a salary reduction to make the switch, and he will play Champions League football with the Sang et Or.
