Jean-Philippe Krasso faces the prospect of knee surgery, which could rule him out of the World Cup, after ongoing meniscus pain despite resuming training with Paris FC.
According to L'Équipe, the forward was excused from Wednesday morning’s public session at Stade Jean-Bouin and travelled to Lyon to consult Professor Sonnery-Cottet about the next steps.
Krasso has been out since the second half of March, his last minutes coming in the 0-0 draw at Strasbourg on 15 March. He returned to group training last week but the discomfort has persisted.
If an operation is required, the attacker, who has two goals and two assists in 25 Ligue 1 matches, would miss the tournament scheduled for 11 June-19 July. The Ivorian international featured at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Within the club there is still hope to avoid surgery, keeping alive his chance to be involved if selected. Krasso is expected back at the training centre on Thursday and the uncertainty is frustrating him.
