Jean-Philippe Mateta (28) has told Crystal Palace he wants to leave the club, with interest growing from other Premier League and European sides, according to reports from BBC Sport.
The 28-year-old striker has 18 months remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park and is not expected to sign a new deal. Palace are willing to listen to offers, with the club believed to value Mateta at around £40m.
Juventus have attempted to sign the France international this month but have so far failed to meet Palace’s asking price. Aston Villa are also interested, having tracked the forward for some time as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner confirmed last week that the club are open to a sale if their valuation is met.
“With 18 months left on his contract, there will be a price we would accept,” Glasner said. “If nobody pays that price, then he will stay.”
Mateta has been one of Palace’s standout performers over the past 18 months, scoring 54 goals in 177 appearances and earning his senior France debut in October. He has scored in his last two international matches.
The striker’s wish to leave comes at a difficult time for Palace. The club have already lost captain Marc Guehi to Manchester City this month and sold Eberechi Eze to Arsenal in the summer. Glasner has also announced he will leave at the end of the season.
Palace are winless in 10 matches and were knocked out of the FA Cup by non-league Macclesfield earlier this month.
