Palmeiras returned to work at the Academia de Futebol on Friday morning after the 2-1 win over Grêmio in the ninth round of the Brasileiro.
According to Nosso Palestra, left-back Jefté, a starter in that game, has been diagnosed with a right thigh injury and has started treatment at the club’s centre of excellence.
The starters completed regenerative work in the recovery and neuroscience departments, while the remainder trained on the pitch with possession drills and marking in tight spaces.
Goalkeepers worked on saves from short and medium range and on building from the back. Vitor Roque, absent against Grêmio, trained separately on the grass with the Núcleo de Saúde e Performance, while Paulinho followed an individual indoor programme.
The victory moved Palmeiras to 22 points and top of the league, with seven wins, one draw and one defeat so far.
After the session, Flaco López, at the club since 2022, reflected on reaching 200 appearances. He said he was extremely happy and proud, recalling a challenging start abroad and expressing complete gratitude for the club’s support.
The 25-year-old also welcomed his latest Argentina call-up alongside team-mate Giay, calling it special and noting they are working hard with the Copa approaching.
Next up, Bahia v Palmeiras in the Brasileiro on 05/04 at 19h30, Brasília time.
