Jefté registered with CBF's BID, see when he could debut for Palmeiras

Palmeiras announced last Wednesday (20) the signing of left-back Jefté from Rangers-ESC. The 21-year-old player signed a contract until July 2030 and will cost around €6 million (approximately R$38.2 million at the current exchange rate) to the Verdão's coffers.

This , the player was registered in the CBF's BID and is cleared to play for the Biggest Champion of Brazil starting from the match against Sport, next Monday (25).

The most ‘lacking’ position in the squad

Left-back has always been the position Palmeiras missed its starter, Piquerez, the most. In 2024, the club signed Caio Paulista, who couldn't find his rhythm or win over the fans, and was later traded to Atlético-MG in a deal that brought Bruno Fuchs to Verdão.

Jefté was even rumored to be joining Chelsea at the start of the season and has been standing out in Scottish football, being named the best left-back in the Scottish league.

Trained in Fluminense's youth academy, the 21-year-old Brazilian joined the club just over a year ago, in May 2024, and signed for four years.

What now?

Verdão returns to the field next Monday (25), at 7 pm (Brasília time), at Allianz Parque, in a match valid for the twenty-first round of the Brasileirão. The game will mark the debut of the new third kit for the 2025 season.
