Jeglertz hails Man City duo after fightback against Bayern | OneFootball

Andrée Jeglertz praised summer signings Beth Mead and Carlotta Wamser after both scored their first Manchester City goals in a dramatic 2-2 Champions League draw at Bayern Munich.

City found themselves two goals down inside the opening half an hour in their first league-phase fixture but fought back to earn a point in Germany.

Mead pulled one back from close range with the final attack of the first half before Wamser struck the equaliser late on.

“It’s great that other people are also [scoring],” Jeglertz said.

“But it shows that Carlotta is in the penalty box as a left-back pretty often in the games and how she is playing.

“Beth Mead is involved in a lot of things and she is learning a little bit of a new role.”

Jeglertz believes the pair are still adapting to their new surroundings but was delighted to see them make a decisive impact.

“Especially learning a new team and everything we build is about relationships,” he added.

“I’m so happy for both of them, for both of their performances, but of course also goals matter.

“They can be people you journalists are talking about afterwards, so it’s good for them.”
