According to Globo.com, Jemerson will not play for Grêmio in 2026. The defender is no longer in the plans of the hierarchy or the new coaching staff.
He did not report back with the rest of the squad on Friday. In recent weeks there has been no progress on a loan move.
A contract termination between the parties may occur. The 33-year-old’s deal runs until the end of 2026. The club is expected to confirm his situation soon.
Jemerson joined Grêmio in May 2024 after a spell at Atlético-MG. He made 44 appearances and scored two goals.
He began last season as a starter under Gustavo Quinteros, then became a reserve with Mano Menezes. His last game was the 2-0 win over São José in the Recopa Gaúcha at the Arena on eight July.
