Liverpool lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace on Saturday, ending their unbeaten run in the Premier League.
The Reds were dominated in the first half by a rampant Palace side that sensed blood. They netted a late equaliser, but the Eagles would not be denied.
Several players underperformed, but much of the post-match frustration was directed at Jeremie Frimpong.
The Liverpool right-back came on in the dying moments to provide solidity, but gave a poor account of himself under pressure.
Frimpong lost four out of five duels, committed a foul and lost possession ten times in only 16 minutes on the field.
He revealed that one of his men jumped out to start a counter-attack instead of defending Eddie Nketiah’s winner.
Frimpong joined Liverpool this summer for £29 million but has struggled to impress.
The Dutchman is yet to score, assist or register a key pass after three league appearances. He failed with his one attempted cross against Palace.
Defensively, he is yet to compete for an aerial duel and has won only 44 percent of his ground battles.
He arrived with plenty of promise, but the Reds will have to be patient to get the best version of the former Bayer Leverkusen star.
Conor Bradley is ahead of him in the pecking order as he adjusts to life in the Premier League. Slot can also turn to Dominick Szoboszlai as a makeshift option.
The Reds have blockbuster showdowns against Galatasaray, Manchester United and Chelsea coming up.
Frimpong will be hoping Slot gives him a chance to redeem himself after this poor showing.
