Rennes centre-back and future Liverpool player Jérémy Jacquet, 20, injured his left shoulder in Saturday's 1-3 defeat at Lens. According to L'Équipe, he could be sidelined for several weeks.

Earlier in the match, fellow centre-back Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal went off in the first half with a right thigh issue.

In the 66th minute Jacquet stopped abruptly without contact during a Lens attack in the area, clutching his left shoulder. He was withdrawn three minutes later.

An operation has not been ruled out, so a lengthy absence remains possible.

Head coach Habib Beye said it was the shoulder for Jacquet and a muscular problem for Aït Boudlal, adding both situations appear fairly serious with further assessments to come.
