Press Association understands that Arsenal saw an opening bid this week for Leicester City prospect Jeremy Monga rejected, but remain confident of signing him.

The forward has made 37 senior appearances for Leicester before turning 17, and became the Championship’s youngest ever scorer last August.

Leicester’s relegation to League One has forced the club to sell key assets, and an agreement is expected for the 16-year-old to move to north London.

Monga debuted at 15 last April in a Premier League defeat to Newcastle, then featured 30 times during a difficult 2025-26 campaign.

Part of England’s Under-19 set-up, he remains on scholarship terms at the King Power Stadium and is set to finalise the switch by his 17th birthday on July 10.
