Earlier this week, Barcelona confirmed Jesse Bisiwu as their third signing of the 2026 summer transfer window. The 18-year-old joins from Club Brugge, and despite his youthfulness, it’s believed that he will be involved with the first team during the 2026-27 season.
Barcelona first tried to sign Bisiwu in January, but after having their approach knocked back by Club Brugge, they had to wait until the summer. In the end, they got their man this week, and as per MD, he spoke to the club’s official media channels after finally being confirmed as a new Blaugrana player.
“My first few days have been very good. I have been welcomed by a great family and I am very grateful for that. They have received me very well, everyone is very friendly and I am very grateful. Being here and seeing it for myself is a different feeling, I’m very happy to be here. When I was young I always dreamed of playing for a big club like Barça, so being here is a dream for me.”
Bisiwu also opened up on talks he’s had with Hansi Flick, whom he’s expected to work under going forward, as he revealed that his role at Barcelona has been made clear to him.
“Hansi has received me very well, we have had some talks and it is very easy to understand what I have to do this year: work very hard and learn as much as possible. They have all been very attentive, and I am very grateful. This season I will work hard and give my best, and we will see how the season goes. I want to give my all for this badge. When the coach needs me, I will be there; I just want to work hard to be prepared.”
