Plenty of Manchester United players have gone on to have a respectable career in football since leaving Old Trafford.

Jesse Lingard, a former FA Cup hero, has taken quite an unusual route since departing Manchester back in 2022.

He played for only a season with Nottingham Forest in the English top-flight, before taking the road less travelled and joining FC Seoul.

The Englishman was in South Korea for over two seasons, playing 67 times in all competitions, while registering 19 goals and 10 assists.

Lingard interested in returning to Europe

The Carrington graduate was even their skipper last season, but decided to mutually part ways just before the January window.

Interested in returning to Europe, the England international is not short of suitors from within the Premier League and La Liga, but he could be headed to the Eredivisie as per The Daily Mail.

Former teammate and United legend Robin Van Persie, currently managing Feyenoord is pushing to sign the 33-year-old attacker.

They have already contacted the versatile attacker’s representatives, but will need to see off competition from West Ham, Wolves, and Genoa to land their man.

RvP pushing to reunite with Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard is expected to take a final call by the end of the current week.

“Feyenoord are among the clubs to have made contact over free agent former Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard. The 33-year-old is hoping to make a decision on his next move by the end of this week.

“Clubs from England, Italy and Holland have discussed offers for Lingard who left Seoul FC in December after 67 games and 19 goals.

“The likes of West Ham, Wolves and Genoa had also examined the possibility of signing the ex-England international over recent weeks.

“Feyenoord are coached by Lingard’s former United team-mate Robin van Persie who has been under pressure to resign after losing to league leaders PSV Eindhoven and Real Betis in the Europa League.”
