Jesse Lingard’s arrival has handed Corinthians a notable landmark, with the club now boasting three players who have scored at a World Cup.
Meu Timao notes that Lingard joins Memphis Depay and André Carrillo to form the first such trio in the club’s history.
Lingard struck for England in the 6-1 win over Panama at the 2018 tournament.
Corinthians’ number 10, Depay, has two World Cup goals across two editions. His first came at Neo Química Arena during the 2018 World Cup in a 2-0 victory over Chile, and his second arrived in 2022 in a 3-1 win against the United States.
Carrillo featured in his only World Cup in 2018 with Peru, scoring in a 2-0 success over Australia in the final round of the group stage, then playing on the right flank.
In 2011, Corinthians had four World Cup scorers on their books, Adriano, Liedson, Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo, though that quartet did not take the field together.
Lingard is not yet registered to debut. The club are awaiting the necessary paperwork to enter him in the CBF’s Daily Information Bulletin, and the midfielder, who has not played since December 2025, will undergo physical preparation before he is ready to return.
