Jesurun Rak-Sakyi would be an ideal replacement for Nicolas Kuhn after a six months wait…

Nicolas Kuhn left Celtic in July to join Italian side Como 1907 on a £17m deal while it’s fair to say that the Celtic Board led by Michael Nicholson failed to bring in a replacement in the summer transfer window with his lowballing offers being publicly ridiculed by his counterpart at Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles.

Kuhn has taken time to settle in Italian football although he did score a spectacular goal this weekend, it’s well worth a wee look…

It’s Burns Night so that means we are 25 days into the January transfer window and still the Celtic Board led by CEO Michael Nicholson have failed to replace Kuhn, although they did seem to take some time off to attend the match in Bologna where one or two vinos looked to have been consumed.

One player who could be the idea replacement for Nicolas Kuhn is Jusuran Rak-Sakyi.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is a name high up on the rumour mill of Celtic transfer targets, and he’s very much a player who could add some much need quality into this Celtic team should he be tempted north before the transfer window slams shut in just over a weeks time.

The 23 year old Crystal Palace winger who’s spent the last few months on loan at Turkish Super Lig side Caykur Rizespor is highly regarded, and despite failing to make the breakthrough at Selhurst Park in his seven years at the club, he’s impressed on several loan spells during that period.

The former England youth international who is also eligible for Ghana through his parents, has gained valuable first team experience in league one with Charlton Athletic, and had a productive campaign with Sheffield United in the championship last season, whilst of course starring in the Turkish top flight with Rizespor.

Rak-Sayki plays on the right hand side of the attack, which allows him to cut onto his favoured left foot, and he can score as well as create as his stats suggest, making him a valuable asset to any team.

He’s an old fashioned type winger who likes to take on defenders, and is well capable of beating his marker due to his blistering pace and natural ability on the ball. He’s a real crowd pleaser, and one who has the potential to be a genuine Celtic favourite.

The right wing berth is a position we’ve struggled to fill since the departure of Nicolas Kuhn, who was a main goal contributor in his time at the club before joining Como in the summer for £17 million.

Jesurun Rak-Sayki is a player we should be pursuing in our aim of winning five in a row. A loan with an option to buy would be ideal. What are you waiting for Michael?
