Roshn Saudi League champions Al Hilal picked up a couple of premier awards for September, with Jorge Jesus named the competition’s Coach of the Month and Aleksandar Mitrovic its Player of the Month.

Meanwhile, Al Qadsiah’s Koen Casteels was confirmed as Goalkeeper of the Month, while Al Shabab’s Musab Al Juwayr marked an excellent start to the season by collecting the prize for Young Player of the Month.

Jesus, the 2023-24 RSL Manager of the Year, seemed almost certain to win the award for the RSL’s lead coach having guided the title-holders to five wins from five to begin the defence of their crown. In September alone, Al Hilal reeled off three league wins: away at Al Riyadh and Al Kholood, and a hugely impressive 3-1 victory at home to Al Ittihad in the Saudi Clasico.

The fast start ensures Al Hilal sit top of the RSL after five rounds, extending their unbeaten streak in the top-flight to 41 matches.

Key to that has been Mitrovic, who has forged out in front of the early race for the 2024-25 golden boot by netting seven times in five matches this campaign. The Serbia international, who last term struck 28 goals in 28 RSL appearances during his debut season in the Kingdom, scored three times in three league matches in September, including a brace in the Clasico.

Meanwhile, summer signing Casteels marked his introduction to the RSL with four clean sheets from five matches for Al Qadsiah, with two of those coming last month for the Belgium No.1.

Al Shabab’s Al Juwayr has also enjoyed a fine start to life at a new club after the Saudi Arabian midfielder made a late move across Riyadh from Al Hilal days after opening his 2024-25 account with a goal against Damac. Al Juwayr has settled brilliantly at Al Shabab, playing an integral role in their 100 percent RSL record in September to help hoist the side to third in the standings.
