Jhon Arias signed a pre-contract with Palmeiras on Thursday 5 and is close to completing a move, according to Nosso Palestra. The Colombian has been playing regularly in England but has endured a long spell without a holiday.
Palmeiras pursued him while he was at Fluminense, but president Mário Bittencourt refused to open talks at the time.
He joined Wolverhampton in July after the Club World Cup. He then completed pre-season with the Premier League side and did not take a break. His last time off was in January 2025.
A similar schedule awaits in 2026. During the Brasileirão pause for the World Cup, he should be with Colombia at the tournament. A break is likely only in December.
The transfer will be worth €25 million, about R$ 154 million, on a deal running to the end of 2029.
Wolverhampton are bottom of the Premier League with 8 points from 24 matches. Arias has played 29 times for the club, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
