Jhon Arias has rejected Flamengo after the club made an offer to Wolverhampton. According to Coluna Do Fla, the former Fluminense forward told the club he did not want the move, so Flamengo ended talks.
Even so, Arias is very close to a return to Brazilian football, with Palmeiras advancing a €25 million, R$155 million, proposal to Wolverhampton.
Flamengo have already completed three signings. Vitão, formerly of Internacional, has arrived to bolster the defence, while goalkeeper Andrew has also joined. The club have made the biggest investment in Brazilian football to bring Lucas Paquetá from West Ham.
They still want a centre-forward but, after the Paquetá outlay, do not plan extravagant moves and will monitor opportunities.
After drawing with Internacional, Flamengo face Sampaio Corrêa on Saturday in the sixth round of the Carioca. Kick-off is 21:00, Brasília time, at the Maracanã. The club are in a delicate position in the state competition.
