Jhon Arias is due to arrive in Brazil on Friday morning to begin his Palmeiras career, with an afternoon presentation planned at the Academia de Futebol.

According to Globo.com, the Colombian attacking midfielder travelled from England on a chartered flight after being unveiled last Saturday, having requested a few days to settle his move.

Palmeiras have already completed his registration, leaving him eligible for the Campeonato Paulista and the Brasileirão.

Although he had been playing for Wolverhampton in England, the turnaround to feature on Sunday against Guarani is very short.

As a result, the expectation is that his first appearance will come in the Paulista quarter-finals next weekend, with kick-off time and opponents still to be confirmed.

A long-held target for the Verdão, Arias is the club’s second most expensive signing at 25 million euros, R$ 154 million, and has signed a four-year contract to the end of 2029.
