Jhon Lucumi yet to respond to Bologna’s contract offer

Serie A side Bologna managed to fend off attempts from Sunderland to keep Jhon Lucumi at the club but are currently struggling to tie him down to a new contract.

Tuttomercatoweb report that talks about a renewal for the Colombian are ongoing. Bologna have proposed a new deal and have offered a salary which is much higher than his current one, with Lucumi given the chance to renew till the summer of 2029.

So far, the 27-year-old is yet to respond and no meetings have been planned in person. There is stalemate between the two parties.

Despite this, Vincenzo Italiano has chosen to trust the defender and has given him game time throughout the first three Serie A games.

Lucumi’s contract expires in the summer of 2027, with Bologna having exercised the option for another season in the summer after his release clause also expired in the middle of July.
