Jhonder Cádiz, the 30-year-old Venezuelan striker and former Benfica player, has joined Wuhan Three Towns, who finished 13th in last season’s Chinese league.
According to Glorioso 1904, he becomes the club’s latest addition. He arrives from Pachuca, where he recorded three goals and three assists in 23 games. Wuhan Three Towns are the former club of Romário Baldé, who has previously criticised Benfica.
In China he will link up with Adriano Firmino, the 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder who left Santa Clara in the last transfer window.
Cádiz’s career in Portugal included spells with União da Madeira in 2015/16, Nacional in 2016, Moreirense in 2017 and Vitória de Setúbal in 2018/19.
Benfica signed him for 2019/20, but he did not make a first-team appearance, instead taking three consecutive loans before joining Famalicão from 2021 to 2024.
In 2026 he has featured in four official matches, all in Mexico’s Clausura, totalling 124 minutes, with no goals and one assist, and is valued at 2.8 million euros.
