QPR defender Jimmy Dunne has sent a one-word message to fans on Twitter as the return of the Championship nears – telling them he’s “focussed” despite recent events at Loftus Road.

The full second tier schedule restarts on Saturday the 10th of December but the R’s are not back in action until the following day when they host league leaders Burnley at Loftus Road.

They will do so without Mick Beale in the dugout after their manager left under controversial circumstances to take charge at SPFL club Rangers.

Paul Hall has taken interim charge of the first team while the search for Beale’s replacement goes on but with the return of the full Championship schedule now a week and a half away, it seems Dunne wants to make it clear there’s only one thing on his mind.

He took to Twitter to send a one-word message to fans – posting a picture of him in action alongside the caption “focussed”.

The R’s will hope to reclaim their spot in the top six when they take on Burnley next Sunday – having dropped to seventh ahead of the World Cup break due to a five-game winless run.

The Verdict

Loftus Road has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons over the past few weeks as speculation circled about Beale’s departure and many weighed in on the controversial situation surrounding his move to Ibrox.

But it appears Dunne is fully focussed on on-pitch matters and that’s good news because they’ve got a tough game coming up when the Championship resumes.

Burnley have been the best team in the division this season and will be raring to go after a month or so off due to the World Cup.

A result would be a real confidence boost for the R’s, who have taken just one point from their last five games.
