New Barcelona signing Joan García has this week revealed his appreciation for the talents of a player whom he will soon call a teammate.
The individual in question? Lamine Yamal.
Shot-stopper Joan is of course fresh off putting pen to paper on the terms of a long-term contract at the Camp Nou.
As much came after a dazzling season on the books of Catalan rivals Espanyol, which saw the 24-year-old emerge as, in the eyes of many, La Liga’s standout goalkeeper.
One club against whom Joan did endure a tough time of things in 2024/25, though, were none other than Barcelona.
Across the two league meetings between the sides, Hansi Flick’s troops put five goals past Espanyol.
And the scorer of one of these five goals evidently made his mark on the incoming Joan.
Speaking during an interview with Barca’s official media channels on Tuesday, the Spaniard was asked to name the player he has found most difficult to stop to this point in his career.
And Joan went on to respond:
“The player I’ve had the most trouble stopping? Lamine Yamal.”
