Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has made clear to the club’s sporting department his plans for the goalkeeper position for the 2025/26 campaign.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Monday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

The subject of the situation between the posts has of course dominated the headlines surrounding Barcelona for several weeks now.

This comes amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding the futures of all of Wojciech Szczęsny, Marc-André ter Stegen and Iñaki Peña.

Not only that, but Deco and co. have already kicked into gear efforts to bring a new shot-stopper, with Espanyol no.1 Joan García the leading contender to arrive at the Camp Nou in the summer.

So, what exactly is the plan for the Blaugrana’s goalkeeper rotation in 2025/26?

As alluded to above, early this week, a clear insight into as much has been forthcoming online.

As per MD:

‘Barca’s goalkeeper bet is clear and involves Joan García and Wojciech Szczęsny, a more experienced option (35) but with guarantees, as the Catalan’s backup. The idea is to complete the trio with one of the homegrown goalkeepers.’

This would appear to suggest that both Ter Stegen and Peña are out of the plans of manager Hansi Flick and his coaching staff.
