João Afonso joins Porto as first signing for 2026/27

Porto have confirmed the signing of João Afonso, with the 19-year-old goalkeeper becoming their first addition for 2026/27.

As reported by O Jogo on 23 May, he arrives from Santa Clara, with Porto beating Sporting to secure a promising goalkeeping talent.

Afonso has signed a contract running until 2031.

Porto will pay €1.5 million for 80 per cent of his rights, with a further €500,000 dependent on objectives.

The remaining 20 per cent can be acquired for €2 million.
