According to Fabrice Hawkins, Paris Saint-Germain are close to reaching a total agreement with SL Benfica for João Neves (19). The Portuguese international is expected to sign a five-year contract with the French champions barring any last-minute hiccups.
It’s estimated that PSG will pay less than €100 million for Neves with it being reported earlier this week that Les Parisiens had at one stage offered €70 million with Renato Sanches included in their deal. However, Hawkins states that the Sanches deal is completely separate from the Neves negotiations.
Neves is expected to arrive in Paris over the next few days ahead of signing for the club with only a few more details left to iron out before a full agreement is reached between Benfica and PSG.
He had been a key target for PSG this summer with Luís Enrique keen to strengthen his midfield. His signing could mean that at least one of the current crop of midfielders may leave before the end of the window, with Fabián Ruiz earning interest since his impressive Euro performance with Spain.
