João Palhinha has no intention of joining Benfica | OneFootball

João Palhinha, the 30-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder, is not considering a move to Benfica despite recent links.

According to Glorioso 1904, the Portugal international has no intention of joining the Lisbon club and that possibility is completely off his agenda.

He maintains an excellent relationship with Marco Silva, who coached him at Fulham and was influential in his Premier League rise. Even so, that does not open any door to Benfica.

Any return to Portugal would be limited to Sporting, the club where he established himself, and the only domestic project he would consider for next season. Even that is uncertain at this stage, with his priority to remain in top European competition and any comeback dependent on very specific circumstances.

This season, for Tottenham, he made 45 competitive appearances, 33 in the Premier League, eight in the Champions League, two in the EFL Cup, one in the FA Cup and one in the UEFA Super Cup. Across 2,917 minutes he scored seven goals and provided two assists. He is valued at €15 million.
