Chelsea climbed into the Premier League’s top four after a 1-0 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The only goal came midway through the first half. Moises Caicedo won the ball high up the pitch from Micky Van de Ven and rolled it across the six-yard box to Joao Pedro, who swept home the opener.
Spurs’ day was further disrupted when Lucas Bergvall was forced off with a suspected concussion just five minutes in.
Enzo Maresca's side maintained control for much of the contest. The Blues’ midfield trio of Reece James, Enzo Fernandez, and Moises Caicedo dominated possession, while Spurs struggled to carve out meaningful chances.
As the match entered stoppage time, substitutes Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro each went close to adding a second goal, but Vicario remained alert to deny them, ensuring the slim margin held.
The win gives Chelsea bragging rights in the London derby, moves them level on points with third-placed Tottenham.
