João Pedro Tchoca has put together back-to-back starts for Corinthians in the Brasileirão for the first time in almost a year. Meu Timao reports the development.

He lined up against Chapecoense at Neo Química Arena, where the hosts lost 2-1 after a comeback by the visitors. Last Sunday at the Maracanã, Corinthians were competitive against leaders Flamengo but again fell 2-1, a result that marked a fifth straight league defeat.

Despite the reverse in Rio, Tchoca delivered a standout display and was Sofascore’s top-rated Corinthians player. He led the back line with 14 defensive actions, comprising 10 clearances, two tackles and two blocks. He also won five of six duels and completed 86% of his passes.

His previous run of successive league starts came in November 2025. He was named from the off in the 3-1 win over São Paulo, the 3-0 loss to Cruzeiro and the 2-2 draw with Botafogo.

A youth product at Corinthians, Tchoca has made 41 senior appearances, including 32 starts, with two goals and one assist. Those outings comprise 20 wins, 12 draws and nine defeats, and he was part of the club’s 2025 Paulista and Copa do Brasil triumphs.

Corinthians now pivot from league duties to the Libertadores. They host Estudiantes at Neo Química Arena on Wednesday at 21:30 in the quarter-final second leg after a 1-1 draw in La Plata in the first meeting.
