Rosenior will face a much tougher task on Wednesday evening in his first game at Stamford Bridge against Arsenal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi final.

The former Strasbourg boss faces an enormous task with Chelsea currently eighth in the league, and on a run of one win in their last nine league matches.

Rosenior has spoken about how he doesn’t just want to be a Chelsea manager, he wants to be a winning Chelsea manager, and a win against Arsenal would certainly help in getting fans onside.

Chelsea have reportedly told Rosenior Champions League qualification is “critical,” and Morris has warned his job could be under threat if the Blues don’t qualify.

“Expectation wise, I don’t think we should differ from what they were at the beginning of the season. They have to be looking at achieving Champions League football and try to go deep in competitions,” he said as quoted by The Mirror.

“I am not the type of person who thinks you can win something every year, but the fact that they won trophies last season puts us in the situation where we can try to compete.”

Chelsea need to do better

Morris has stated Chelsea need to do better, and he’s disappointed the Blues haven’t been able to build on last season’s achievements.

“I think they have to do better than what they are doing at the moment, hence why they changed the manager,” he added.

“After watching the first game, I don’t think there is too much of a difference between what Enzo Maresca was playing and what Liam Rosenior wants to do.

“I don’t think the expectations should change, and I also think he will continue down the same road. We should be looking at Champions League football and build on what they did last season because they haven’t really done that this season, which probably has been one of the biggest disappointments.”
