Joe Cole gives strange verdict on “outstanding” former Chelsea player

Joe Cole usually has an opinion that I rate a lot, but I think he’s got this one very wrong speaking on a former Chelsea player.

Cole says he rates a player that Chelsea sold in the summer and has actually gone as far as calling him outstanding, but I don’t think there are many Chelsea fans who would agree with his verdict, and I’m not even sure that the fans of his new club would agree either.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea have two options for new centre back in before the transfer window closes!

We are talking about winger Noni Madueke, who made the move from Chelsea to Arsenal in the summer. I don’t think any Chelsea fan was that upset to see him go, which usually tells you all you need to know about a player.

I mean, I don’t think many of us thought he was a bad player, but he’s certainly not a player you can describe as outstanding – nowhere near really. I always saw him as a decent squad player personally.

But Cole seems to rate him.

Noni Madueke completes Arsenal move.

As cited on X today, Cole said on Madueke:

“I think he’s an outstanding player, I was gutted to see him leave Chelsea. He’s gone to Arsenal and I think he’s thrived with competition, got [Bukayo] Saka in front of him. He’s doing well.”

Sorry Joe, you’re wrong

I believe Robert Sanchez has more Premier League assists than Madueke this season, which is madness, and only one. But that means Madueke has ZERO Premier League assists to his name and also, he’s not been that great at all.

I couldn’t disagree more with Cole on this one, which is very rare for me as he’s usually pretty spot on.
