Leeds United are weighing up Joe Gelhardt’s future after his prolific Hull City loan, with a sale under consideration this summer.

According to The Athletic, the club will first assess rival interest and potential fees before any decision, amid suggestions of a possible three million pound exit.

Gelhardt returns to Elland Road after scoring 15 goals and supplying six assists, helping Hull earn Premier League promotion. The Tigers want him back permanently as they gear up for the top flight.

There is a growing view he has no place in Daniel Farke’s plans, and with one year left on the 24-year-old’s deal Leeds are not in a strong position to demand a premium. Even so, the report indicated they are not inclined to accept a cut-price move.

That stance could invite a broader market, with Rangers among clubs credited with interest. Offloading Gelhardt for three million pounds would be poor business for Leeds.

His preference may yet shape the outcome. The striker would be happy to re-join Hull after a fruitful spell at the MKM Stadium, where Premier League minutes beckon.
