Joelinton has been speaking ahead of the new season.

The midfielder insisted that he always wanted to stay at Newcastle United and that is why he signed his new long-term contract during last season.

Joelinton insists as well that Bruno Guimaraes is also going to stay, stating how just like him, Bruno loves the club, fans, and the city/region.

As for Eddie Howe, Joelinton says that the fact England want him is proof of what a good job he is doing at Newcastle United, but he is convinced that the Head Coach wants to stay at St James’ Park. Whilst having now reached the five year mark at Newcastle himself, Joelinton wants Eddie How to also stay for many years.

Joelinton talking to the media ahead of the new season:

“I always said that I wanted to stay at Newcastle United.

“I love the club.

“I love the city.

“My family are happy here and I enjoy my life here.

“Things are going well on the football pitch, so why not stay?

“Football is always changing but I made it clear that I wanted to stay.

“My hopes are high for the new season with Newcastle United.

“Last season was difficult for me with the injuries and now I want to be healthy and help the team.

“I want to help us get back up there again.

“We have great expectations, Europe again… the Champions League.

“We have big goals and we want to compete with the best.”

Eddie Howe on Bruno Guimaraes:

“He (Bruno Guimaraes) loves the club as well.

“He loves the fans and he enjoys his life in Newcastle.

“Newcastle and the club want him to be happy and stay for many years.

“I think he is going to stay.

“He tells me he is going to be back soon to get ready for the season.

“We want to play for Brazil together but first focus is here [at Newcastle United].

“If I do a good job at Newcastle I have a chance to go to the national team.

“Of course my relationship with Bruno can help as we play similar positions, we play together, he can help me if I go with the national team.”

Joelinton on Eddie Howe:

“Eddie Howe has done a lot for me since day one.

“Eddie Howe is a great coach.

“He is a great man.

“I love him.

“I have a lot of respect for Eddie Howe.

“Eddie Howe changed my career.

“He and his staff changed things, they gave me a new mentality and helped my football.

“They have definitely changed my life and I will be forever grateful.

“We love him here, we want him here.

“Hopefully he will stay for many years.

“Eddie Howe is a great coach and I know he can take Newcastle United to the next level.”

“To see Eddie Howe’s name linked with the England job shows how good he is.
