Leeds United visit Brentford on Sunday for a key bottom-half Premier League fixture, with John Brooks appointed as referee.

The Leicestershire-based official has taken charge of eight Leeds matches in his career, none since the 1-0 Championship play-off final defeat to Southampton in May 2024. Before Wembley, he oversaw six Championship games and the EFL Cup second-round tie against Barnsley in August 2022, which Leeds won 2-1.

Those Barnsley and the 2-1 Championship victory at Luton Town in November 2019 are Leeds’ only two wins from eight under Brooks. He has not shown a red card in any of those fixtures.

Brooks also refereed the regular-season trip to Southampton in 2023-24, when Leeds were beaten 3-1.
