Chelsea legend John Terry has admitted he would love to see Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi back at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues tried to sign Dean Huijsen early in the summer window, but he opted to join Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Chelsea lost Levi Colwill to an ACL injury before the start of the season, and despite public pleas from Enzo Maresca for a new centre back his wish wasn’t granted.
Chelsea have had issues at centre back at the start of the season, and Maresca has struggled to settle on a consistent partnership.
The decision not to sign a centre back has looked costly, although things have improved with the Blues keeping back to back clean sheets for the first time in the league since May with shut outs against Tottenham and Wolves.
Whether Chelsea decide to sign a centre back in January isn’t clear, although reports indicate it’s unlikely at this stage.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with Guehi in the past, and Terry has admitted he’d love to have the England international back at the club.
“I’d love to see Marc Guehi come back [to Chelsea],” he told The Obi One Podcast.
“We had a buy-back [clause] at one point as well.
“He’s available – why wouldn’t he come back?”
Guehi saw a move to Liverpool collapse on deadline day, and will be a free agent at the end of the season, with multiple clubs set to fight it out for his signature.
Whilst it’s unclear if Chelsea will look to add another centre back in January, there’s been positive news on Colwill.

Reports suggest Colwill is on track with his recovery, and there’s hope he could return to action before the end of the season.
It’s believed the 22-year-old has been off crutches for a month, but Chelsea certainly won’t rush him back just so he can play a few games at the end of the season.
