John Textor has issued a scathing response to Michele Kang’s takeover of Olympique Lyonnais, accusing her of malicious business practice and claiming his reputation has been smeared.
According to Le Progres, the change of control will see the club leave the Eagle Football group and revert to OL Groupe, and Textor’s influence may eventually recede.
The former OL chief posted a long letter on Eagle Football’s website, directing anger at Kang and also criticising chief executive Michael Gerlinger.
He alleges that, through official group statements since July 2025, Kang has sought to damage his name while pursuing personal control ambitions. He also accuses her of showing contempt for the shareholder rights of EFG Holdings Limite, to whom he says she owed a duty of loyalty.
Textor maintains that under his watch he acted with total transparency and made no irregular transactions. He adds that Gerlinger had defended the multi-club financial and sporting model, including transfers between the group’s clubs.
He ends with another broadside, claiming Kang is using the board and the company to settle personal vendettas.
