Former Lyon president John Textor, 60, marked Endrick’s loan with an Instagram story, sharing the club’s confirmation and praising the link with Brazil, according to L'Équipe.
Endrick, 19 and owned by Real Madrid, joins on a paid loan worth up to €1 million.
Textor wrote that the bond between Brazil and France endures in Lyon and signed off with a message of support for OL.
The sentiment chimes with Lyon’s longstanding Brazilian connection and Textor’s ties to the country, he also owns Botafogo.
Endrick will be the 29th Brazilian to play for Lyon. The first was Constantino between 1956 and 1959, and 27 of the 29 arrived from 1999 after Sonny Anderson’s move from Barcelona. Later recruits included Claudio Caçapa, Juninho, Fred, Michel Bastos, Bruno Guimaraes, Lucas Perri and Abner Vinicius, the last before Endrick.
