Jordan James is being linked with a return to England, with Crystal Palace planning a 30m bid and Championship side West Ham also keen, according to Alan Nixon. The Rennes midfielder impressed on loan at Leicester City last season.

Ouest France claims Rennes are seeking 13m to sell James this summer.

James spent the 2025/26 campaign at the King Power Stadium, scoring 11 Championship goals and winning the EFL Young Player of the Season. His performances drew praise despite Leicester’s relegation to League One.

City confirmed he would not be staying for the new season, despite it being understood the loan from Rennes included an option to buy.

After leaving, James described a frustrating year, thanked supporters for their backing from the moment he arrived and wished the club and its fanbase the very best.

Leicester now face a major rebuild in League One, with the transfer window open and movement expected at the King Power.
