Super Eagles looking to put World Cup disappointment behind them

Live: Jordan vs Nigeria
Nigeria travel to Turkey this evening to take on Jordan in an international friendly and round off their first break back since their Africa Cup of Nations campaign. Eric Chelle’s side finished third in the winter tournament earlier this year, beating Egypt on penalties in a tight third-placed play-off at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, Morocco.
Ademola Lookman, the former Fulham and Charlton Athletic forward now plying his trade at Atletico Madrid, netted the winning spot-kick that day, as the Super Eagles avenged their semi-final shootout defeat by the hosts. Since then, they have faced Iran in a friendly last week, recording a 2-1 victory.
Moses Simon and Akor Adams were on target that day, with star striker Victor Osimhen not with the squad after he fractured his right forearm playing for Galatasaray. Chelle’s men missed out on World Cup qualfication after they were beaten in the African play-offs by the DR Congo. Keep up to date with all the latest from Antalya with our live blog below.

Osimhen, having been discharged from hospital this morning, looks set to be sidelined for the next four to six weeks at least.
The 27-year-old reportedly made a personal request to remain in hospital for a couple of extra days after his surgery to give his recovery the best possible start.
There is apparent, reserved optimism that he could potentially be fit to feature in the huge Istanbul derby against Fenerbahce on April 26.
