Former Porto winger Jorge Couto expects a heated and finely balanced clássico between Porto and Benfica at Estádio do Dragão, with both teams in good form.
“In these games it is always difficult to make either side favourites. Given the balance, anything can happen,” said Couto, speaking to Lusa.
Couto represented Porto’s first team from 1989/90 to 1995/96.
“They still have a good squad, a strong squad for the competitions they are in. It is important that a squad is not only 11 players, or 14, but 22.”
Benfica arrive after a 2-0 win over Milan in the Europa League, a match in which Marco Silva made several changes.
“It was a sign that the squad works well and is very well prepared for the demands of the competitions they are in.”
