Jorge Henrique visited CT Joaquim Grava on Tuesday as Corinthians completed their final session before the Libertadores quarter-final second leg against Estudiantes.

According to Meu Timao, the 2012 world champion posed with football executive Marcelo Paz and football manager Julio Cesar during the visit, and he made 216 appearances for the club with 30 goals and 27 assists.

On his social channels he described the return as a homecoming, saying he went back to reconnect with former team-mates, long-serving staff and the current squad.

He added that, now working as technical coordinator at Ateneu in Montes Claros, he aims to bring together Corinthians and the player development work being built at Ateneu.

Jorge Henrique and Julio Cesar shared the pitch 92 times between 2009 and 2013. His honours with Corinthians include the Paulista and Copa do Brasil in 2009, the Brasileirão in 2011, the Libertadores and Club World Cup in 2012, and the Paulista in 2013.

Corinthians host the Argentine side at Neo Química Arena on Wednesday at 21:30, seeking a place in the semi-finals. With the first leg drawn, the winners go through and a further draw sends the tie to penalties.
