Jorge Sampaoli left his role as Talleres head coach on Sunday, a day after the 0-0 draw with Central Córdoba in round seven of the Torneo Clausura. The club said in a statement that the contractual relationship had come to an end.

The stalemate at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes brought fresh unrest among supporters, who saw the team off with whistles and chants aimed at the coach and the board.

Sampaoli took charge in June to replace Carlos Tevez, signing an 18-month deal in what was his first job in Argentine football for 26 years.

With results poor and the side far from the qualification places, his stint has ended. A decision on who leads the professional squad for the rest of the championship will be communicated in the coming days.

During his brief tenure there were defeats to Newell´s, Vélez, Lanús and Gimnasia (M). He oversaw a 4-0 win at Platense and a 2-2 draw with Rosario Central.
