Jorginho has urged Flamengo's squad to shut out off-field noise as the club navigates internal turbulence and a coaching change.

According to Coluna Do Fla, he told a Friday press conference the group must protect itself from external matters, warning that allowing them in could create problems and that unity is their strength.

The team have endured an unstable spell, losing two finals. They fell to Corinthians in the Supercopa do Brasil, then to Lanús of Argentina in the Recopa Sul-Americana.

On Tuesday, Flamengo dismissed Filipe Luís despite an 8-0 win over Madureira at the Maracanã.

There is also the imminent departure of José Boto from the club's football department.

With Leonardo Jardim now in charge and Jorginho available, Flamengo face Fluminense on Sunday at the Maracanã at 18:00 Brasília time in the Campeonato Carioca final.
