José Albert loaned to Zamora as Castellón free up a shirt number | OneFootball

CD Castellón academy product José Albert has joined Zamora CF on loan, freeing up a shirt number as the summer window nears its close.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the 22-year-old returns to Primera RFEF with the Zamora side coached by former Orellut Óscar Cano, having come back this summer from a spell at Ibiza.

In pre-season friendlies he was often used on the left of a back three, and he can also operate at left-back or as a left wing-back.

He extended his Castellón contract by one season to June 2027 and completed pre-season under Pablo Hernández.

His role in the senior squad was to be assessed over the coming weeks, but with defensive reinforcements added the club have opted for a loan that also opens a registration slot to finalise their business.

The summer transfer window closes on Tuesday at 23.59.
