José Boto explains Pedro’s improvement under Leonardo Jardim at Flamengo

Leonardo Jardim’s Flamengo have pieced together solid recent results, with Pedro emerging as a key performer.

"The fact we have brought in a coach who adapts more than imposes a game model has certainly had a very positive influence on Pedro, who, for certain models of play, has some limitations," José Boto told FlamengoTV.

"A coach must also know how to make the most of players' best qualities. That is what Leonardo Jardim is doing with Pedro."

Since Filipe Luís’s departure, Pedro has featured in nine matches under Jardim. The centre forward has scored six times and supplied one assist, making seven direct goal contributions.

With Pedro available, Jardim’s Flamengo face Bahia at the Maracanã on Sunday 19 at 19:30 Brasília time.
