Sevilla appointed José Luis Mendilibar on 21 March after sacking Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli, with the Andalusian side just two points above the relegation zone.
Now with 21 points collected in La Liga and a seventh Europa League title, the Basque coach has earned himself an extension on his initial short-term deal at Sevilla.
Last night, during the Europa League celebrations, Sevilla club president José Castro announced that the former Eibar boss had already been offered a new deal.
It is set to be a quick negotiation as Mendilibar wants to stay at the club, and he will sign for one year with the option of a second season included, according to Marca.
The Sevilla dressing room has also asked for him to be kept on, making it clear publicly that he was the ideal man for the job, even before the Europa League final.
That same dressing room can also look forward to Champions League football next season, and it finally looks like it will be with Mendilibar.
